El Foro de Caux sobre Seguridad Humana se presentó la semana pasada en un importante Foro en Ucrania. El Foro de Seguridad de Kiev, organizado por Open Ukraine, en colaboración con el Instituto Real de Gran Bretaña de Asuntos Internacionales y otros, reunió a 400 personas de toda Europa y más allá. Entre ellos muchos líderes políticos de Europa del Este y diplomáticos.

The Caux Forum for Human Security featured last week in a major Ukrainian Forum. The Kiev Security Forum, hosted by Open Ukraine in partnership with Britain’s Royal Institute for International Affairs and others, brought together 400 people from throughout Europe and beyond. They included many East European political leaders and diplomats.

Micheline Calmy-Rey, twice President of the Swiss Federation, told participants in the Fifth Caux Forum for Human Security, in Switzerland, that dialogue represents the political realism necessary to resolve global challenges. With her was Swiss Ambassador Claude Altermatt who described the Caux center as ‘a haven of peace and inspiration’.

Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun, Founder and Chair of the Caux Forum for Human Security spoke yesterday at the close of the 5th annual meeting at the Initiatives of Change centre in Caux. He called for ‘a coalition of conscience that is capable of redirecting a society towards creative policies’.

El 15 de mayo de 2012, Peter Riddell habló sobre el tema "Sanar los recuerdos heridos", en una reunión de la división en la Ciudad de Oxford de la Asociación de las Naciones Unidas. El tema central de la charla fue sobre cómo los recuerdos heridos pueden ser sanados, ilustrando esto con el proceso de reconciliación entre ingleses e irlandeses, en el cual él ha tenido experiencia personal y la contribución de Irène Laure en la reconciliación de la posguerra franco-alemana, lo cual cree es un gran ejemplo para este tipo de trabajo.

Peter Riddell spoke on the theme ‘Healing Wounded Memories’ at a meeting of the Oxford City branch of the United Nations Association on 15 May 2012. The focus of the talk was on how wounded memories may be healed, illustrating it with the reconciliation process between English and Irish of which he has had personal experience, and the contribution of Irène Laure to post-war Franco-German reconciliation, which he believes is a foundational example for this kind of work.

El Desafío de Caux es una oportunidad para que los individuos den pasos hacia convertirse en el cambio que desean ver en el mundo. Durante toda una semana del mes de mayo, los participantes están invitados a ponerse retos personales participando en alguna actividad que busque inspirarnos a todos a hacer un cambio, ya sea en nuestras familias, comunidades, países, para así formar parte de una coalición de conciencia que trabaja para lograr la seguridad humana para todos.

The Caux Challenge is an opportunity for individuals to take steps towards being the change they wish to see in the world. Over one week in May, participants are invited to challenge themselves by undertaking an activity aimed at inspiring us all to make a change, in our families, communities, countries – and to thereby be part of a coalition of conscience working towards human security for all.
